SUPPORT FILTER PHOTO WITH YOUR TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION

Donations to our organization are more critical than ever as we continue our work supporting working artists and our community of patrons. Your contribution supports our ongoing initiatives and sustains our programming, allowing us to expand our growing community. Help us continue to create programs that support photographic makers and those who simply love photography.

You can choose to have your donation specifically applied to one of the following categories or let us decide where your support will make the most impact:

Filter Space Projects
Since 2015, Filter Space has served as a year-round hub for the photography community in Chicago, with regular exhibitions, alongside social, educational, and professional development opportunities. Funding in this category allows us to:

  • Maintain W.A.G.E. certification standards, ensuring that we’re equitably compensating exhibiting and teaching artists

  • Support exhibiting artists by offsetting production and shipping costs

  • Continue to offer free community events, like the Filter Photo Book Club and Coffee & Conversation with exhibiting artists

Student Scholarships

Over the last five years, Filter Photo has made a commitment to make our programming more accessible for younger artists. Funding in this category supports:

  • Our High School Initiative, which allows students from Chicago Public Schools to join us for a day of programming at the annual Festival. The students each receive two professional portfolio reviews, and attend Artist Talks and Roaming Reviews

  • Our College Scholarship Fund, which provides opportunities for undergraduate students to supplement their education with professional workshops and portfolio reviews at the Festival

Filter Photo Festival

As we enter our 17th year, the Filter Photo Festival remains a vital piece of the cultural landscape of Chicago. Funding in this category allows us to:

  • Equitably pay the visiting artists, teachers, and other workers without whom the Festival would not be possible

  • Increase accessibility to the Festival by keeping the majority of programming free and open to the public

Thank you for supporting Filter Photo and these important initiatives!

HEAR DIRECTLY FROM ARTISTS WE'VE SUPPORTED

“As a Fellow at Filter Photo, I had an incredibly transformative experience that significantly shaped my professional journey. The connections and relationships that I built are one of my favorite takeaways. Getting to collaborate with diverse artists and industry leaders expanded my perspective and reinforced the power of photography as a tool for storytelling and connection. The Fellowship also provided invaluable opportunities for artistic growth, networking, and community engagement, which pushed my creative boundaries and helped jumpstart my professional career in the arts. My time at Filter Photo continues to influence and inspire my work today.” —Grace Tenneh Kromah, 2022 Filter Photo Fellow

“Attending last year’s Filter Festival was nothing short of amazing. Not only was it well organized and professional, but the staff and reviewers were first rate! The feedback I received was thoughtful and I left reviews with suggestions that helped me move my documentary project forward. Beyond making new photo friends, the professional contacts I made reaped quick rewards that led to my work being included in last year’s CURRENTS 2023 exhibition at the Ogden Museum in New Orleans, and I am also in the process of working with Skylark Editions on a publication.” —Michael Young, 2023 Filter Photo Festival Attendee
