In conjunction with the 2026 Filter Photo Festival, join us for a Curator's Tour of the Art Institute of Chicago's current exhibition Lee Miller: Fearless. AIC Curators will be joined by historian Antony Penrose, the son of Lee Miller and head of the Lee Miller Archive, for this special tour.
On view through December 7, 2026, the exhibition is the first comprehensive survey of Miller’s photographs in more than 25 years, gathering approximately 150 works from across the major episodes of her singular career. From the 1920s through the 1950s, Miller wore many hats: fashion model, Surrealist innovator, magazine photographer, business owner, international adventurer, and accredited battlefield correspondent. These remarkably varied interests shaped her approach to life and creativity, which is on full display in this expansive exhibition. Lee Miller: Fearless is organized by the Art Institute of Chicago in collaboration with Tate Britain and Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris.
