PHOTO ZINES 101

Phillips Zine Workshop Banner Light.jpg

Join us in the Festival Lounge for this free information session with artist Jeff Phillips to learn all about photo zines.

Photo zines provide a unique opportunity for creative expression through a democratized platform. Easy and inexpensive to create and distribute, zines can help raise awareness about your practice, re-energize a stalled project, and even help you test the waters if you plan to publish a more traditional photo book.

Phillips will guide participants through a tour of the zine universe and its many creative possibilities. Review zines from established and emerging photographers, and learn about the basics of zine construction and distribution. Phillips will also share free resources to help you make your first photo zine!

Jeff Phillips is a Chicago-based photographic artist. He is interested in non-traditional ways of presenting photography, including zine-making, public projections, and immersive installations of photography and video.
