Behind every photograph is a fire unseen. Broken hearts, a mountain view, family feuds, and odysseys, are
trapped in life-still. With corners neatly pinned to black paper, the snapshot bawls against its careful designation as personal record. The scrapbook is a diary, where if it is true that “a picture is a thousand words”, the compilation is an inferno raging against scotch-tape, glue, and careful penmanship.

Anthony Vizzari is a photographer, artist, antiquarian, estate sale archeologist, and former architect (-An archtographist). He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Masters of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2007, Vizzari established A&A Studios, a multifaceted creative studio focusing primarily on photobooth restoration and manufacturing. Anthony is an active contributor to the vernacular photographic community, helping to collect and preserve the legacy of analog photography. Anthony is also the founder of the Museum of Mourning Photography & Memorial Practice (MoMP); a collection of memorial related materials with a publicly accessible gallery & archive located in Lyons, Illinois.
