Keeping track of (all of the versions of) your work and managing the administrative back end of an arts practice can be a chaotic and time-consuming process. In this session, join Alex Wieder, Technical Director at LATITUDE, for in-depth advice on how to document, store, and organize your work—both digitally and physically.


Topics will include:

  • How to maintain a digital archive and appropriately document your artwork

  • Best practices for digital file management, including storage and backup, and file naming conventions

  • Best practices for physical artwork storage, including proper handling, packaging, and care

  • How to edition your work and manage your inventory

Alex Wieder (he/him/his) is a lens-based artist, printer, educator, and jack-of-many-trades who serves proudly as the Technical Director at LATITUDE Chicago, a nonprofit digital printing facility. He is known for having a variety of skills, abilities, and knowledge revolving around all things photographic, archival, color-critical, and technological, and is both an Adobe Photoshop Certified Professional and a trained Piezography printer.
