Photographer and Curator
Oriana Koren (they/them) is photographer, curator, writer and researcher. For the last decade, they have worked to visually dismantle revisionist histories around the cultural contributions African descendants have made in building American culture, with a specific focus on American cuisine + foodways and the use of optical technologies in aiding the erasure of Black contribution to American society. They are a founding member of the Authority Collective and an co-author of the Photo Bill of Rights.
Documentary (rooted in personal experience, rooted in stories from the US), fine art, student work (undergrad/graduate), work of all genres from artists of color and queer & trans artists, alternative photographic processes/analogue photography.
