Co-Founder, WorkSpace Gallery

Larry Gawel, along with his wife Dana Fritz, opened WorkSpace Gallery in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 2008. WorkSpace Gallery presents six solo photographic exhibitions annually, of work by regional, national and international photographers who explore the photographic medium through notions of its past, present, and future. Funded by the Porter Foundation, the gallery operates on a zero-commission basis. Larry is also the Photography Program Coordinator at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska, and from 2012 to 2019, he served as Chairperson of the Midwest Chapter of the Society for Photographic Education.

He is interested in reviewing completed bodies of work that are ready for exhibition in a public venue.  He is looking specifically for photographs that expand both the visual and conceptual definitions of landscape; non-portrait based work produced under studio conditions; and traditionally printed black and white photographs from any genre.
