JON FEINSTEIN
Co-Founder, Humble Arts Foundation and Independent Curator
Jon Feinstein is a Seattle and New York City-based photographer, curator, writer, and co-founder of Humble Arts Foundation. Jon has curated numerous exhibitions over the past decade-plus, including NEXT at the 2018 Filter Photo Festival, Humble Cats at Photoville in Brooklyn, NY; Future Isms at Glassbox Gallery in Seattle, WA; RIFFS at PCNW in Seattle; and Another NY for Art-Bridge at The Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, NY. Jon and Roula Seikaly, recently won BlueSky Gallery’s 2019 curatorial prize for their exhibition “An Inward Gaze” on view in May 2019. Jon’s curatorial projects have been featured in Aperture, The NYTimes, The New Republic, BBC, VICE, The New Yorker, Hyperallergic, and Feature Shoot, and his writing has appeared in VICE, Aperture, Photograph, TIME, Slate, GOOD, Daylight, and PDN. His own photography has been exhibited around the US, and has been featured in Ain’t Bad, Capricious, VICE, The Print Center, Booooooom, Paper Journal, Slate, and – somewhat reluctantly – FoxNews.
Jon is looking to meet with photographers to consider for future exhibitions, highlight on Humble Art’s Instagram feed and website, or consider featuring in the various publications he writes for. He’s also happy to provide editing, sequencing or career advice. He’s open to a range of work: conceptual, documentary, etc, but would prefer not to review photos of abandoned spaces or nude photographs of women made by men.
