Picture & Visuals Editor, Guardian US

Jehan Jillani is a Picture and Visuals Editor at the Guardian US where she oversees photography for all feature stories and special projects that come out of the New York, DC, and Oakland office. She also contributes to visual stories for the website at large.  Prior to joining The Guardian, Jehan was a photo editor at National Geographic where she worked on the publication’s environmental coverage. She has also worked as a digital photo editor at The New Yorker, where she researched and commissioned images for all facets of  

Jehan’s work has been recognized by the Society of Publication Designers, and American Photography. She has done multiple portfolio reviews across the country, and has spoken about photography at the journalism programs at Columbia University and Western Kentucky University. Jehan is a graduate of Smith College and is from Islamabad, Pakistan.

She is interested in work that intersects between documentary photography and fine art and to meet more BIPOC photographers in the Midwest.
